CreepDrive Solution Applications

The primary application for the CreepDrive system is any truck that works at a very low, constant speed – spreaders, dumps, cleaning vehicles. The demonstration installation in the video above is for a tunnel cleaning truck.

The Challenge

Many applications require a work truck to operate at a slow and constant speed, which can sometimes be difficult. Putting a truck into drive and lightly braking on and off is not necessarily very steady nor efficient. For certain work tasks that need more precision and a constant working speed, something more reliable is needed. That’s where the CreepDrive system come in to help.

The Solution – What is CreepDrive?

The Poclain CreepDrive system is a hybrid transmission for vehicles that work at very low speeds but travel at normal speeds on the road. Vehicles equipped with CreepDrive feature two independent transmissions: the standard mechanical one and a hydrostatic one.

Shifting from one to the other is done by activating a switch. The mechanical transmission is used for traveling on the road, while its hydraulic counterpart is used for working at low speed.
